We usually advise that everyone has regular yearly skin check ups. In our consultations the doctor will use dermoscopy and determine whether your skin is likely to have skin cancer.
For the suspicious lesions, the doctor will perform skin biopsy and send it to a lab for testing that will determine if you have skin cancer and, if so, what type of skin cancer you have. For more complex skin cancers, a doctor will refer you to a dermatologist.
