Cosmetic Treatments

What we offer

Dr Umed Cosmetics provides doctor-led, non-surgical cosmetic treatments across four areas: fine lines and wrinkles, facial volume and contour, submental fullness, and IV nutrient therapy. Every treatment begins with a consultation and clinical assessment. Some options may be delivered by device or by injection, and which is appropriate depends on your assessment rather than on what you booked in for.

Treatments are provided by registered medical practitioners and registered nurses working within their scope of practice, under the clinical oversight of Dr Umed Shekhawat, a Specialist General Practitioner.

Morpheus8 & RF Microneedling

As part of the natural ageing process, changes in skin elasticity and facial volume may contribute to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Our qualified doctors and nurses provide personalised consultations to assess individual concerns and discuss appropriate options, in line with TGA and AHPRA guidelines. Any treatment, if deemed suitable, is performed with a focus on safety, client education and informed consent.

Changes in facial volume in areas such as the cheeks, jawline, and lips can influence overall facial definition. Our doctors and nurses provide consultations to assess individual facial anatomy and discuss suitable treatment options that may assist in supporting facial contours. All treatments are subject to clinical assessment, client education,  informed consent, and are provided in accordance with TGA and AHPRA guidelines.

Advanced laser skin treatment at Gold Coast cosmetic clinic

Submental fullness and localised areas of persistent fat can affect the definition of the jawline and neck. Our qualified doctors and nurses offer consultations to assess individual concerns and determine whether non-surgical treatment options may be appropriate. Any treatment is discussed and provided in accordance with TGA and AHPRA guidelines, with an emphasis on clinical suitability, informed consent, and patient safety.

IV - Vitamin Drip Therapy

We provide medical consultations to assess patients for clinically diagnosed vitamin or nutrient deficiencies. Where appropriate and clinically indicated, nutrient therapy may be prescribed following a comprehensive medical assessment. All consultations and treatments are conducted by qualified doctors or nurses in accordance with TGA and AHPRA guidelines, with a strong focus on patient safety and informed consent.

Why some treatments are not described in detail on this website

You may notice that we describe concerns and consultations here rather than naming particular products or brand-name treatments.

Australian law restricts what a clinic may publish about certain treatments, particularly those involving prescription medicines. Those options can be discussed with you during a consultation, where a practitioner can assess you and answer your questions properly. This is a legal requirement rather than a marketing choice, and it applies to every compliant clinic in Australia.

If you have seen a treatment named elsewhere and want to know whether it is something we assess for, ask us at your consultation or call the clinic.

What happens at a cosmetic consultation

  1. You describe your concern and what you are hoping to change.
  2. We take relevant medical history, including medications, allergies and any previous procedures.
  3. A practitioner examines the area and assesses your facial anatomy or the relevant site.
  4. We discuss the options that may be appropriate for you, including the option of doing nothing.
  5. We discuss the likely benefits, the risks and possible side effects, the recovery involved, how many sessions may be recommended, and the cost.
  6. You have time to consider the information before deciding.

You are under no obligation to proceed after a consultation, and you are welcome to seek a second opinion.

Suitability, risks and what we will not promise

  1. Results vary between individuals. Two people having the same treatment can have different outcomes. We cannot predict yours.
  2. Not everyone is suitable. Medical history, medications, anatomy, the area involved and your expectations all affect suitability. Some people who come in for a consultation will be advised not to proceed.
  3. All procedures carry risk. Side effects and complications are possible with any clinical procedure, including procedures described as minimally invasive. Common and serious risks relevant to you will be discussed before you consent.
  4. Some treatments involve discomfort and recovery time. This is explained before you decide, not after.
  5. More than one session may be recommended. This depends on the concern and on your response to treatment.
  6. Cost is discussed at consultation, because it depends on what is clinically appropriate for you.
  7. Age matters. Non-surgical cosmetic procedures for patients under 18 are subject to additional legal requirements, including assessment and a mandatory cooling-off period.
  8. If you are unhappy, speak with us first so we can address it. You can also raise a concern with Ahpra or with the Office of the Health Ombudsman in Queensland at any time.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a consultation before treatment?

Yes. A consultation and clinical assessment are required before any cosmetic treatment so that suitability, risks and alternatives can be discussed with you.

Why don't you name specific treatments or brands on this page?

Australian law restricts advertising of certain treatments, particularly those involving prescription medicines. Those options can only be discussed during a consultation.

Who performs cosmetic treatments at your clinic?

Registered medical practitioners and registered nurses, working within their scope of practice, under the clinical oversight of a Specialist General Practitioner.

Is there any downtime?

It depends on the treatment and on the individual. Some options involve little or none, others involve swelling, redness or a recovery period of several days. Your practitioner will tell you what to expect for the specific option being considered before you decide.

How many sessions will I need?

This is assessed individually. Some concerns are addressed in a single session and others are managed over a series of treatments. We will give you an indication at consultation rather than a guarantee.

What if I am not suitable for treatment?

We will tell you, explain why, and discuss alternatives where there are any. Where the concern sits outside our scope, we can refer you.

Can I have cosmetic treatment if I am under 18?

Additional legal requirements apply to patients under 18, including assessment and a mandatory cooling-off period. Speak with the clinic before booking.

Are all treatments available at every clinic?

No. Availability varies by location. Contact the clinic you plan to attend, or check our locations.
